I started this blog so that others can learn from my experiences, experience adventures with their pets and find encouragement to give back to their community. I also want to show how traveling can be affordable (and is highly recommended) and document my road to financial independence.
I decided to write this blog for many of the reasons stated above (turned out to be a long process) but also because what gave me the confidence to believe that I could retire in ten years was reading stories of people who had already done it! I have not done it yet, but I would like to share what I know and things that I do on my way there. It also helped me realize what I was missing out on. Remote work for three months in Hawaii??! I don’t want to wait for typical retirement (age 65) to do that! I just need to find ways to make that happen for myself sooner than later. I don’t intend to try to become a millionaire tomorrow and I currently put many, many hours towards community service. But everyday I want to continue down a path that is helping me have more time to experience adventures in nature, adventures with people, adventures with animals and adventures in building better communities.
